New NFSA Card distributed

MLA Oinam AC and Chairman MPCB L Radhakishore Singh distributed 606 House Hold Priority Card to villagers under the jurisdiction of Oinam Municipal Council, Ward 9, Oinam AC after National Food Security scheme was enforced in April 2016 for Manipur in a simple function held at Khabam Ereima Shanglen, Oinam while five Kg of rice were also distributed to each card holder at Rs 3 per kg under NFSA.
The card distribution function was attended by MLA Oinam AC and Chairman MPCB L Radhakishore Singh, District Suppy officer Bishnupur A Gopendro Sharma, Inspector CAF & PD Bishnupur K Singahajit and Ex-Chairperson Oinam Municipal Council as dignitaries.
A total of 606 new cards were distributed in the function for Oinam Municipal Council including 52 cards for Ward No 2, 66 for Ward No 3, 164 for Ward No 4, 40 for Ward No 5, 134 for Ward No 6 and 150 for Ward No 8.Earlier, 748 cards out of required 1344 were distributed in 2016.Speaking at the occasion, MLA L Radhakishore Singh informed that there was not a single NFSA card holder in Ward No 6 and 8 under Oinam Municipal Council earlier but the villagers who met the criteria to hold the said card can now avail the benefit of various welfare scheme through the new card.
The new card holder will receive their share of rice quota sanctioned by the Govt and the former card holders will continue to receive the same benefit, mentioned the MLA while adding that the preference have been given to print the name of the women in the card deliberately by the Central Govt in its endeavor to give more respect to women.
He continued that people should use their time judiciously instead of resorting to unproductive work, bandh, blockade and sit-in-protest.
Development of Manipur lies in the hands of its people and therefore people should refrain from calling bandh, general strike and other agitation which can drain out income of the State to the tune of Rs 1477 crore per day, he added.
He urged each section of the society to take the benefit of Govt welfare scheme irrespective of their political distinction.
He also announced that subsidized loan will be provided to farmers who are engaged in fish farming and the Govt will extend all possible help to enhance livelihood of fish farmers.
He also informed that the Ringband has been disbanded for Oinam considering the inconveniences face by the public.
Meanwhile, 122 new House Hold Priority Card for Leimaram Gram Panchayat Ward No 3 and Ward No 4 under Oinam AC were also distributed by MLA Laishram Radhakishwore at the residence of Keinou Zilla Parishad Member N Samananda including 58 cards for Ward No 3 and 64 cards for Ward No 4 along with the rice.
The card distribution function for Leimaram GP Ward No 3 and Ward No 4 was attended by MLA Oinam AC Radhakishwore, Keinou Zilla Parishad Member N Samananda Singh, Ward members and CAF & PD District Food Supply Officer, Inspector and officials of Department.
