Blast rocks Moreh

A bomb exploded at around 1 am at Moreh Ward No 2 Sunrise ground today.
The bomb exploded near a temporary bunker of the Assam Rifles and a fence restricting movement of people across the Indo-Myanmar border.
Moreh police and Assam Rifles investigated the scene and collected fragments of the bomb.
No one was hurt in the explosion.
Meanwhile, sounds of heavy firing and explosions near Namphalong Fire Sub-station on Myanmar side could be heard at Moreh during the night.
Reports said there have been casualties in the incident in Myanmar.
It may be noted that the border town of Moreh is on high alert in view of the army crackdown on pro-democracy protesters resisting military regime in Myanmar.
Elected leaders including Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi were arrested during a military coup on February 1 and ever since then there has been widespread protests and violence in the country.
Hundreds of protesters have been killed in military actions.
