Jiribam, July 01 2011:
The Rural Women and Child Development Society (RW CDS), Tousem sub-division has slammed decision of the State Government to set up Rani Gaidinliu Guest House at Nungkao-2 in Tamenglong district, asserting that such a move is against the wish of the villagers.
RW CDS president ahuai Kamei rued that the site to set up the Guest House is not acceptable as it is not convenient in every aspect for the villagers who prefer the Guest House to be constructed near NH-37 (formerly NH-53) at Nungkao-3, also known as 24 Mile.
Kamei also warned that intense agitation would be launched if the wish of the villagers is not honoured by the Government in this regard.
Notably, the foundation stone for the said guest house had been laid by the Works Minister K Ranjit on May 10 this year.
