The United Bank of India Tamenglong branch which is serving the people of Tamenglong district is facing another acute shortage of money in the bank for second time.
Due to acute shortage of money in the bank the general public and the businessmen including pensioners who keep the money at the branch bank are facing untold inconveniences.
Wages of job card holders of NREGS, salaries of government employees and private individual's moneys are all pending and facing very hard time.
While disclosing to this reporter the bank manager Jotin Singh said that the main reason for acute shortage of money in the bank is due to delaying remittance.
Bad weather and non availability of chopper causes to prevent the remittance, the manager said.
'We has been trying to get remittance since January this year and today we also arrange for it but due to bad weather we cancelled it', the manager stated.
The official admits that shortage of money was since last month, added that the UBI Tamenglong branch has less depositor and people mostly withdrawal.
To the query the manager disclosed that thought there was no ATM machine at Tamenglong branch ATM system was just opened in this month and the bank has issued 61 ATM to the customers.
The branch bank has 7127 live account and 155 current account operated here at Tamenglong branch, the manager said.
Further the manager also disclosed that the branch was running under staff.
He opines that if telecommunication, transportation with good roads and other good accommodation facilities are here at the district HQs many more officers posted at Tamenglong will be willing to come and stay and work.
He also disclosed that the bank branch is working very hard for the welfare of the people inspite of irregularity of electric current and frequent total collapsed of BSNL services.
