DG AR visits State

Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Ranbir Singh arrived on the two-day State visit on May 21 and was received by IGAR (S) Maj Gen UK Gurung at Tulihal Airport.
The General officer visited far flung and remotely located posts of various Assam Rifles Battalions including Joupi, Sehlon and Sajik Tampak and appreciated the gallant efforts of all ranks of Assam Rifles for the present state of peace and calm.
He also discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the State with Maj Gen UK Gurung and other senior officers, said a PRO IGAR (S) release adding that DG AR also interacted with various Govt officials regarding the security situation in the State.
Before finally departing for Shillong, the Director General also visited Keithelmanbi garrison and interacted with the troops.
As a precursor to the 'Go Green Fortnight' being launched by HQ IGAR (South) shortly, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh planted a sapling and lauded the Assam Rifles Archery team, which is undergoing training at Keithelmanbi, for their recent achievements in various State and National competitions and wished them luck to attain even more moments of glory.
