Imphal, August 12 2020:
As in the past years, the CorCom, a conglomerate of different armed groups has called a boycott of the coming Independence Day celebration and imposed a total shutdown from 1 am to 6.30 pm of August 15.Essential services including medical service, electricity, water supply, fire service, press and religious activities are exempted from the purview of the shutdown.
In a statement issued to the press today, media co-ordinator of CorCom, Sak-hen alleged that Kangleipak has no reason to join the celebration of Independence Day for it was on October 15, 1949, that the land and the people were forcibly taken over by India.
It has been 71 years since then.
It was on July 3 this year at Ladakh that Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said that the age of expansionism is over, said the statement and alleged that this is a clear reflection that India is living under the illusion that no one knows what it has done in WESEA or is justifying its stand.
India should accept that after the British left, it has been following a policy of expansionism which is anti-thesis to their claim that they are the biggest democracy in the world, alleged CorCom.
When the British left, there were more than 565 princely States each having their own history, culture and territory, alleged CorCom and added that most of them were not part of British India.
Manipur (Kangleipak) too existed as an independent entity in WESEA and treaty - relations between Manipur and the British started in 1762.Even after Manipur was defeated in the 1891 war with the British, the sovereignty of Manipur was still respected, alleged CorCom adding that it never became a part of British India.
Going into details of history, CorCom said that after the British left, all countries which never a part of British-India were given back their sovereignty and this was mentioned in Article 7 (b) of the Indian Independence Act.
It was in line with this that Manipur had her Constitution back in 1947, which was much earlier than the Constitution of India.
It was under this Constitution that the universal adult franchise was held in Manipur in 1948, added the statement.
Manipur was forcibly annexed through deceit and force via the Manipur Merger Agreement in 1949, alleged CorCom.
That India used force and her military strength can be well established by the statement of the then Home Minister of India, Sardar Patel, who questioned, "Don't you have a Brigadier in Shillong" from his sick bed at Mumbai, alleged the outfit.
That people of WESEA and the Himalayan range were discriminated on the ground that they belong to the Mongoloid race and could not be trusted can be discerned from the utterings of Sadar Patel, alleged CorCom further.
It was under a strategic expansionism that Kabaw valley (Kiyam Lamjao) was gifted to Burma and till today, the territory of WESEA is being eroded gradually, alleged the outfit and added that India continues with her expansionism.
Sikkim was also allegedly taken over in 1975 after Indian passed the 36th Constitutional Amendment Act, alleged CorCom further.
India's deception is today known to the world, alleged CorCom and added that it is still yet to translate the alleged plebiscite assurance given by Nehru at United Nations on Kashmir.
Today even Article 370 which gave special status to Kashmir has been scrapped.
Even VP Menon, who championed India's expansionism admitted that India did not exist as a Nation and it was to champion their expansionism that mythicals like Mahabharat and Ramayan were used to spread the message that there is India.
Even Nehru in book 'Discovery of India' admitted that science and civic Nationalism were absent in India and this is why on page 67, Nehru said that the Ramayan and Mahabharat were needed to support the idea of Bharat.
Thus India continues to use religion to build up her sense of Nationalism, alleged CorCom further.
