CADA organizes awareness programme at Papal, Thoubal

As part of its ongoing campaign to fight the menace the drug abuse and alcoholism in different parts of the State, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), Thoubal District Committee organized an awareness programme at Papal Maning Leikai Keithel Macha, Thoubal District on April 20 at around 1 pm.
The awarenes programme was attended by Langpoklakpam Mohen, senior citizen; Ningthoujam Doren, vice-president CADA and Mayengbam Budhi, secretary Organisation CADA as presidium members while Geetchandra Mangang, secretary general, CADA attended as resource person.
Speaking at the occasion, resource person Geetchandra Mangang said that misinformation about using alcohol is one of the major factor for the rapid rise of alcoholism in the State.
He said that most of the people believe that consuming alcohol soothe their pain and kept at bay all their stress after returning home from hard day work while adding that consuming alcohol do not have any health benefits but rather deteriorate their health.
He further said drug abuse and alcoholism are main cause of rising crime rate in the State.
Mayengbam Budhi, secretary organisation CADA said that consumption of alcohols and other contraband items is becoming fashion during any religious rituals which is a dangerous trend in the State that can drag the society to chaos and disorder.
