Community halls inaugurated at Sagolband Meino Leirak

A newly constructed multipurpose community hall has been inaugurated at Sagolband Meino Leirak by Young Pillars Union today.
Inaugurated by MPCC president MLA Gaikhangam as chief guest, the community hall was built at the cost of Rs 35 lakhs.
In his speech, Gaikhangam spoke on the importance of building such hall in the densely populated Imphal city.
By highlighting recently inaugurated projects by the UPA chairperson and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he asserted that SPF Govt would continue to carry out various development works in the coming years if peoples continue to support Congress during the forthcoming Assembly election.
The inaugural function was also attended by PDA Chairman MLA Dr Kh Loken Singh, Councillor Ward No 8 K Tikendro, Councillor Ward No 10 S Tiken Singh and Councillor Ward No 24 Kalangchonlu Gangmei as president and guests of honour respectively.
Meanwhile, inauguration of the public community hall constructed under MLA local area development fund cum one day convention on HIV/AIDS of Oinam Assembly Constituency and was held today at Oinam Awang Leikai.
The function was graced Speaker I Hemochandra, MLA Oinam constituency I Ibohalbi, MLA Naoria Pakhanglakpa constituency RK Anand and MLA Wabagai constituency as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, State coordinator, Manipur Legislature forum on HIV, Sushil Huidrom said that the forum organised the convention with an aim to overcome issues of HIV and AIDS.
He maintained that an effective HIV intervention could be possible only when the State Legislatures, NGOs and public were fully aware and take necessary actions against it.
He further appealed the people of the area to extend their support to the people living with HIV.
