Along with staging a Wakat Meepham in connection with the killing of Laishram Ibosana Singh (founder of Diamond Academy English School), Ningthoujam Bijoy Singh (president of Social Welfare Club), both residents of Kha-Sanjenbam and Nameirakpam Somorjit Singh of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai by unidentified gunmen, a Joint Action Committee called JAC Against the Brutal Killing of L Ibosana Singh, N Bijoy and N Somorjit Singh was held during a public meeting held at Kha-Sanjenbam High School ground with Laishram Sorojini Devi in the chair today.
The meeting strongly condemned the killing of the three persons and set January 20 as the deadline to all concerned for coming out with an explanation on the killing.
The meeting also decided to call an indefinite chakka bandh in case the Government fails to fulfil the demands of the JAC highlighted in the memorandum submitted to the Govt at the earliest possible.
The meeting further resolved that all the people would support the decision taken by the JAC in this connection.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association, Imphal and Youth and Students' Association, Lamshang have strongly condemned the killing.
