Construction of Pallel-Chandel road nearing completion

Imphal, February 11 2017:
Construction of Pallel-Chandel road (NH-102C) which was initiated under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is nearing completion.
The construction work is undertaken by National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.
Pallel-Chandel stretch is 18 kms long and so far the company has completed blacktopping 12 kms of road sections.
One of the senior engineers of the construction company who inspected the construction work told reporters that the blacktopping work will be extended upto extra 3 kms along road leading to district hospital considering the hardships of the villagers.
Areas which are yet to be blacktopped are road connecting Komlathabi-Heiboklok and Pallel-Lamkang Centre.
These stretches will be repaired under the project 'Temporary restoration of Pallel-Chandel road', the senior engineer.
He further said that though most of construction materials including fuel and bitumen cannot be readily available due to UNC's economic blockade, the company is putting all possible effort to complete the work before Lui-Ngai-Ni festival.
