State students, teachers, meirapaibis meet President in Delhi

Students, teachers and meirapaibis of Manipur who were part of the Assam Rifles sponsored tour met with President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on March 4, a statement of the IGAR(S) said today.
The educational tour for students, teachers and meirapaibis to Delhi and Agra was organized by 15 Assam Rifles of HQ 9 Sect under the aegis HQ IGAR (South).
They met with the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
In the meeting, the President discussed the social and educational aspects of Manipur with the students, teachers and meirapaibis.
She encouraged the children to work hard and do well in life.
The students, teachers and meirapaibis also visited the world famous Mughal Gardens and museum inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The enthusiastic students will cherish the event and will spread their impressions amongst the community in their villages and towns on return, the statement said.
Another educational tour for students, teachers and meirapaibis to Secunderabad organised by 12 Maratha Li of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has left Imphal on yesterday.
The tour was flagged off by Commandant 12 Maratha Li from Patsoi.
The theme of this tour is to give the local schoolchildren an insight into the progress of the country, and also promote an atmosphere of brotherhood and unity among people of different states, the statement added.
