JAC threatens bandh

The Maha Tumit Leishok Area Joint Action Committee (MTLA � JAC) has threatened to launch a total indefinite bandh from 6 am of October 28, 2017 along Imphal-Moreh Highway if the owner of the bus involved in the accident that occurred at Kanemram near Nungourok on September 24, 2017 which killed Nungchim Angsha Moyon (28) fails to fulfil the agreement signed between him and the JAC within October 27 .
The JAC convener N Solomon announced this during a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club .
He said that Nungchim Angsha Moyon s/o (L) Ninghen Moyon died on the spot when his motorbike was hit by Tata Star Bus (Rose Travel) bearing registration number MNO1-2099 on September 24 at Kanemram near Nungourok in Chandel district .
Solomon further said that an agreement was struck between the bus owner named Sapam Deben Singh of Khongjom Sapam Leikai, Thoubal district and the JAC on October 3 .
He said the agreement was signed with Deben promising to pay Rs 8 lakh as compensation to the family of the deceased person in two instalments on October 15 and November 2017 this year .
Pointing out that Deben never turned up to the victim's family till today despite agreeing to pay the compensation amount, the convener warned the bus owner to pay the amount within October 27 failing which the JAC will launch a total indefinite bandh along the Imphal-Moreh route from October 28 .
He also sought cooperation from the public and apologized for the immense hardship that will be caused during the bandh .
He further told that MTLA � JAC was formed at Heigrutampak village in connection with the incident that occurred on Sept 24 .
