Mock Drills conducted at Stella Hr Sec School

Kohima, April 13 2011:
A mock drill to meet the eventualities in case of natural calamities like earthquakes was successfully conducted in the Stella Higher Secondary school here at Kohima by the Civil Defence and Home Guards along with District Mobile SAR Team today.
The mock drills were carried out in the school to prepare students and teachers for such an eventuality under the earthquake risk reduction programme.
The Mock Drills were conducted to also create awareness on the type of hazards caused by such
natural calamities.
Before the Mock Drill was conducted, Dy Controller and Dist.
Commandant, Civil Defence, Dally Jamir stressed the importance that schools undertake regular earthquake drills, which will help to familiarize both students and staff to the ways in which to survive during an earthquake.
He told the students, teachers and other staffs of the school to follow the instructions carefully about the emergency evacuation plan, exits and do's and don'ts during the Mock Drills.
He also urged the school authorities to conduct such Mock Drills periodically, so that teachers and students were not caught unaware in such situation.

Meanwhile, the School administration has expressed their gratitude to the Dept.
of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Nagaland in general and Dy.
Controller and Dist.
Commandant Mr Dally Jamir and his team in particular for their initiatives and efforts in organizing such Mock Drill Exercise.
The District Mobile SAR Team led by S.I.Matsung Ao.
