Artificial limbs distributed to IED blasts victims

IG AR (S) today distributed artificial limbs to some victims of IED blasts and other incidents because of which their limbs were amputated.
Artificial limbs were distributed to 20 persons at a function organised by the 27th Sector AR at Hqs IG AR (S), Mantripukhri.
Speaking at the occasion, IG AR (S) Maj Gen UK Gurung said that the programme was being organised to provide humanitarian service to the civil population of Manipur.
Similar programmes have been organised twice earlier.
All the beneficiaries and those listed for such benefits got their bodies deformed either due to bomb blasts triggered by UG groups or other accidents.
Assam Rifles could help the victims belonging to remote areas of Chandel and Churachandpur districts at the initiative of 27th Sector AR Commander Brig Madan, said the Major General.
Artificial limbs have been provided to 50 victims till date.
Fresh measurements were also taken for approximately 20 cases who would be fitted with artificial limbs on August 30 this year in phase four of the same project.
The vision of IG AR (S) and 27 Sector is to make the 'Jaipur Foot' accessible and known to all the people of Manipur so that the affected can once again rejuvenate their lives by becoming full independent and take full charge of their daily lives", added Maj Gen Gurung.
