Meanwhile, one Suresh of Keishamthong who is a consumer of Canchi Indane Service said that he has received just three refills this year.
He then appealed to all concerned to ensure that all LPG consumers get full quota of refills allotted for each year.
Canchi Indane Service clarifies : Canchi Indane Service has clarified that mismatch in booking dates may occur as the bookings entered in Indsoft (computer software) are when bookings have matured for refill delivery.
The LPG delivery system currently in practice is based on manual booking registers.
The manual booking practice is followed because only 90 days booking is accepted in the system software i.e if a refill booking exceeds 90 days, the booking will be automatically cancelled.
During long spells of bandhs and blockades when the refill backlog cannot be cleared within 90 days, the actual bookings may have been cancelled due to the software and this may cause unnecessary inconveniences to consumers, said a press release issued by the manager, Canchi Indane Service.
Informing that IVRS and SMS booking system are going to be implemented very soon in the State, it maintained that they cannot accept online booking for the time being.
Canchi Indane Service would accept and implement online booking/SMS/IVRS services and make public the hows and whats of the new system.
"Currently, very few people are aware of the online practices and if we fulfil the select few (online demand) it will deceive many consumers who have made their refill bookings at our end.
Thus it is our firm belief that a common system understandable to the illiterate as well as the educated must be enforced else it will benefit the educated and deprive the common people of their LPG refills" , said the manager.
With regard to the report about online booking done by one consumer on December 16 after he had been issued one refill on December 1 this year, the LPG distributor said that delivering refill based on online booking at this juncture is inappropriate as there are many bookings made before he made the online booking even though their records have not been computerised but are kept as manual bookings.
Nonetheless, Canchi Indane Service conveyed appreciation to The Sangai Express for the whole coverage on LPG related issues.
"We would extend all possible cooperation and provide necessary information as and when demanded", it added.
