Covid claims 1 more, 33 test positive

Imphal, January 19 2021:
Even as 33 persons including one personnel of CAPF tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, the recovery rate is inching closer to 98 per cent.
However, one 71-year old man from Imphal West died of COVID-19 at Shija Hospital during the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 367 .
The fresh positive cases were detected at RIMS, JNIMS, Escent Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital and Chandel, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The 32 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (19), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (2), Chandel (8), Senapati (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
On the other hand, 17 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (10), Shija Hospital (1), Churachandpur (5) and Kakching (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,900 (general population 25,481 and Central security personnel 3,419) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases after reconciliation with the data from IDSP, home isolation and Death Committee Report is 28,298 (general population 24,910 and Central security personnel 3,388) .
The number of active cases after reconciliation with the data from IDSP, home isolation and Death Committee Report is 235 (general population 208 and Central security personnel 27) .
The recovery rate stands at 97.91 per cent.
