Manipur records 31 new positive cases

Imphal, April 16 2021:
Manipur recorded 31 new positive cases during the last 24 hours pushing the total number of COVID-19 active cases to 165 (general population 145 and Central security personnel 20) .
This is the biggest surge in 24 hours in 2021 .
According to a press release issued Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 29 civilians and two CAPF personnel were tested positive at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Escent Diagnostics, Jivan Hospital, Lamjingba Hospital, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Ukhrul and Kangpokpi.
The 29 civilians belong to Imphal West (12), Imphal East (9), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Kangpokpi (2) .
On the other hand, seven COVID-19 positive people were discharged from home isolation following recovery.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,610 (general population 26,148 and Central security personnel 3,462) and it includes 29,069 recovered cases (general population 25,631 and Central security personnel 3,438) .
With the rise in active cases, the recovery rate has declined to 98.17 per cent yet the death toll remains unchanged at 376 as there was no report of COVID related death during the last 24 hours.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 3-9 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
