Imphal, May 11 2012: At 82.86 per cent, this year recorded the highest pass percentage in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education during the past five years.

Athokpam Langlen Chanu of Human Resource Development Academy, Ghari topped the merit list in Science stream.

Laishram Kyamba Meetei of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham wrested first rank in Arts stream while L Thibuni Chachei of Mt Everest College, Senapati is the topper in Commerce stream.

Athokpam Langlen who secured letter marks in six subjects is the daughter of A Ibomcha and A (O) Anita of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Makha Leirak.

Laishram Kyamba s/o L Ingo and L (O) Sanatombi also secured letter marks in six subjects.

Thibuni Chachei d/o PF Lolly and M Losa got letter marks in two subjects.

HRD Academy : Continuing to lead the merit list

The second position in Science stream was shared by Aribam Bijoychandra (Temple of Learning, Canchipur), Kangujam Sunindra (Comet School, Changangei, Ucheckon) and Mohammad Aman Nawaz (Fancier Abhiram Hr Sec School, Thoubal) .

Vilina Langonjam of Herbert School, Changangei won the third position.

CR Patricia Mary Hodge of TG Hr Sec School, Imphal and Niang Thian Mawl of Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Churachandpur won second and third positions respectively in Arts stream.

For Commerce stream, C Lalrinchhani of Rayburn College, Churachandpur and Yumnam Linthoi of TG Hr Sec School secured the second and third rank respectively.

Among the top 20 position holders in Science stream, 15 achievers are from Herbert School, Changangei.

The second best performer in terms of producing rank holders among the top 20 is Fancier Abhiram Hr Sec School, Thoubal.

The school has six rank holders among the top 20 .

Millennium Institute of Sciences, Sagolband Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi follows closely behind with five rank holders.

Counting the topper, HRD Academy has three rank holders.

Comet School, Changangei Ucheckon and Temple of Learning, Canchipur has two rank holders each in the top 20.Somorendra Sana Royal Hr Sec School, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai and Standard Robarth Hr Sec School, Canchipur are also present in the merit list by virtue of securing one position each.

Stream-wise pass percentage is Arts 78.75, Science 85.66 and Commerce 53.32.District-wise, Thoubal district scored the highest pass percentage at 94.86 with Chandel district following closely behind at 94.39 .

Notably, overall pass percentage in 2011 and 2010 were 75.67 and 76.47 respectively.
