Foundation for twin statues of Akaba, Suisa laid

Foundation stone laying ceremony for the twin statues of late Rungsung Suisa and Chingsubam Akaba was held today at Hongmahn Tangkhul village, Senapati district.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held jointly by R Suisa Trust and Lunchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup (LUCANIL).
The programme was attended by R Suisa Trust chairman, Dr Gohor Luithui, LUCANIL chairperson Chinsungbam Wangambi Leima, LUCANIL trustee member N Tomba, Hongmahn Tangkhul village chief Mathangthui Zimik and Hongmahn Tangkhul village chairman Gateby Wungsim as the presidium members.
The twin statues of Rungsung Suisa and Akaba would be named "Twin Statues of Love, Peace and Fraternity" to honour the relentless crusade of Rungsung Suisa and Akaba to bring unity and peace among people of all sections across the State.
Speaking at the function, Hongmahn Tangkhul village chief Mathangthui Zimik said that all out efforts would be put in to complete the construction of the twin statues before the commemoration of the death anniversary of R Suisa on April 17 .
Community hall and a library would also be constructed in memory of Rungsung Suisa and Akaba.
The village chief also lauded the initiative of R Suisa Trust and LUCANIL and further said that collective contribution from the people is necessary in order to execute the construction sucessfully.
