Imphal, February 05 2017:
Launching a scathing attack against Chief Minister O Ibobi and his Government, BJP National general secretary (NE States Coordinator) Ram Madhav has dubbed O Ibobi as 'Mr 10 per cent' .
Speaking to media persons at Hotel Classic Grande here today, Ram Madhav stated that Ibobi earned the epithet of Mr 10 per cent for siphoning off 10 per cent from all development funds sanctioned for the State of Manipur for the past 15 years.
Ibobi has been tacitly supporting smuggling of drugs and narcotic substances, alleged the BJP leader.
Chief Minister O Ibobi has been committing all kinds of offences and unlawful activities which are punishable under different sections of CrPC.
Ibobi is oblivious to the woes of the public because he always concentrated all his time and energy on personal aggrandisement.
In case BJP comes to power in the State, the new Government would pull up O Ibobi and all his activities would be investigated and he would be awarded befitting punishment if he is found guilty according to law, Ram Madhav stated.
Pointing out that Manipur is the third least developed State in the country after Bihar and UP, the BJP leader maintained that the State's Congress Government looted maximum portions of the funds sanctioned by the Centre for development of Manipur thereby keeping the State backward and underdeveloped.
The situation in Manipur is really pathetic if one sees its underdevelopment, unemployment and lack of infrastructure, added Madhav.
Vast majority of the State's Government schools are defunct.
While some schools have excess teachers, others have been reeling under acute shortage of teaching staff.
Moreover, Government teachers were recruited through fraudulent means by the Congress Government, Ram Madhav said.
The Congress Government's fresh initiative to hold the recruitment process of police Constables after the earlier recruitment process initiated in 2013 was cancelled by the Court only testified that Manipur's Congress Government is the most corrupt Government in the country, he continued.
Even though unemployment and incomplete projects are the most noticeable 'gifts' of the Congress Government to the people of Manipur, Chief Minister O Ibobi managed to accumulate a corpus fund of his own, he alleged.
Ram Madhav remarked that there were 600 days of bandhs and blockades in Manipur during the past 15 years and this was one major 'achievement' of the Congress Government.
Responding to a query put up by reporters, he informed that names of BJP candidates for the two remaining Assembly segments would be announced in the next couple of days.
He added that BJP tickets for the two Assembly segments would be given to the most competent contenders.
Dismissing the allegations made by aspiring BJP candidates who have been denied party tickets, Ram Madhav maintained that aggrieved individuals levelling such wild allegations was not something unexpected.
He went on to clarify that BJP never indulge in any form of corruption in the process of allotting party tickets.
BJP will bring equitable justice and focus on development if elected to power in the State, he promised.
The BJP National general secretary also assured that the party would always safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.
BJP candidates will come out victorious and the party will form the next Government in Manipur, he added.
