Five more test Covid positive

Five fresh COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the State during the last 24 hours taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 29,406 (general population 25,960 and Central security personnel 3,446).A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that three civilians and two personnel of CAPF were tested positive at RIMS, JNIMS and Babina Diagnostics.
The civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East, Imphal West and Tengnoupal.
On the other hand, 12 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (10) and JNIMS (2).Even as the cumulative number of recovered cases has reached 28,975 (general population 25,542 and Central security personnel 3,433), there are still 57 active cases (general population 48 and Central security personnel (9) .
The State posted a recovery rate of 98.53 per cent on Friday while the death toll remains unchanged at 374 .
Air passengers who travelled to the State on March 31 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 in rows 16-22, 30-40 and Air India flight AI-889 in rows 12-18 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or the respective District Surveillance Officers.
Meanwhile, 377 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 yesterday.
So far, 86,708 people including 31,624 health care workers have been vaccinated against the virus
in the State.
