Wounded tree
Herojit Philem *
I am a wounded tree.
Being chained with fencing iron wire
My whole body is scared.
Children try their strength with stones
Promising among them to hurt me
With every single stone, they are throwing.
Deep inside I cry, showing no one.
Every day is a risk
And the wounds become deeper
But I still live
And bear fruits.
