World Father's Day
Lunminthang Haokip *
Grandfathers and Fathers, us to life brought;
Yet, the Father of all who feathered was God.
Europe observes, from May to July, the Day;
US fetes Dad's Day on June's Third Sunday.
The lady who launched it was Sonora Smart;
The Daddy honoured was one Jackson Smart.
We all spent our childhood with a father;
With him near, no brute could be a bother.
If dads hiss or got vexed with kids' acts sham;
All dads wished gen-next do better than them.
If kinks craven in kids are big nightmares,
So thinks our heavenly Father who do care.
Father's Day was meant to lift paternal bond;
Matters decay and drift in some ties not fond.
Children feel parental mind's outdated rewind!
Yet, laden with zeal's parents' sedated whine.
To honour parents, to siblings, is a command;
To dishonourpattern's to thwart God's demand.
Many fathers to their own families aren't firm;
Their natures, on this Day, God must reaffirm.
A fleshly father, to own pedigree, is a harm;
The greatest father in history was Abraham.
God knew that his household hewill command;
Caught failed dads will be in scold of reprimand.
