Women are the salt of the earth

God does not differentiate between man and woman as we people differentiate the two. The first father and mother of human beings were created by God. Adam the first human father was created with mud-clay of the earth and Eve; the first mother of human kind was made from the rib bone of Adam.

God pronounced for the two to become one flesh. Please read Genesis 2: 7-25. After God made them husband and wife, the children of mankind produced from the womb of the woman (Eve). Read Genesis 4:12.

Likewise, all human beings on earth are born out of the wombs of women. In the Bible, God says, "Lo, children are the heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Read Psalm 127:3. God again says, "Women shall be saved in childbearing."

Read 1Timothy 2:15. This childbearing includes pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore women are mothers. There were many good women in the old and new testament Bible time that did good works. It may not be possible to mention all the names but let us see few of them.

That first Hatshepsut the daughter of Thutmose I the Pharaoh or king of Egypt adopted Moses and made him the most efficient leader. Read Exodus 2: 5-10. Second, Rahab of Jericho was formerly known as harlot but after she saved two men of Israel who were sent by Joshua to Jericho to study the wall of Jericho and the two were hunted to be killed by the army of Jericho.

After saving those two Israelites, Rahab shunned her bad character and became a good religious woman. Read Joshua 2: 1-24. Third, Sarah after old age conceived and gave birth to Isaac. Read Genesis 21: 1-7.

Fourth, Mary of Nazareth gave birth to Jesus our Lord. Matthew 1:18. Fifth, Mary of Bethany known also as Mary Magdalene, who was forcibly sent by her uncle Simon the leper to the place called Magdala for prostitution.

Mary was being tortured by evil spirits. Fortunately, Jesus met her at Magdala and cast out seven (7) devils out of her. After this Mary repented and followed the instructions of Jesus and Jesus called Mary Magdalene.

Being strong faithful woman, on the day of Jesus' resurrection, Jesus appeared first to her (Mary Magdalene). Read Luke 8:12; Mark 16:9.

Sixth, a woman of Joppa by the name Tabitha known also as Dorcas was a great friend and helper to the poor and the widow. Read Acts 9:36-43.

There are many women at the present time too that have really done things for the needy people all around the world. To mention few of them: Florence Nightingale who was an important woman to promote the service of the nurses; therefore nursing day is observed in her name.

Another, Mother Teresa who has been known as the good and the best mother; therefore, the Mother's Day is observed in her name. As we all know that there are many women in the world who are the leaders of their country or state politically and socially.

Last but not the least, 70% (seventy percent of women are taking the most important role in their families. Most of the children in the families are trained by the mother.

Besides most of household work such as cooking food, water carrying, marketing etc are also handed by the women. Therefore, women are called the salt of the earth.
