What a life ?
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
Morning starts,
With good morning news:
Covid -19 pandemic details,
So many lives lost...
Infected and affected,
So many recovered,
Some in ICU,
Some in Covid wards.
Panoramic view:
Ambulance and police siren everywhere,
Walls between people, lanes and bylanes,
Green,yellow and red zones,
A multicolor landscape.
Unaware to self and masses,
Some moving freely with the 'contagion'.
Who are infected ?
And who are not ?
A dilemma !
A race for records.
Everyone is panicky.
Preventive measures, SOP,
Everybody seems mindful,
But many still unaware.
A query to many.
Only few practice sensibly.
The reality, an enigma.
Unending awareness programs
Leave many bewildered !
Amid chaos and dilemmas,
Someone asks :
Whither the Covid -19 pandemic ?
Whither the New world order ?
As the basic societal needs
Override the fear of death,
And people come out
To make ends meet,
Amid the grim pandemic.
Why worry !
Someone says:
Death is inevitable.
Covid or no Covid,
One has to die, someday .
It hardly matters
To us who are starving !
Alas ! What a life.
