Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN) conducted its 3rd webinar series on 'Medical and its allied professions' for 100s of school students from Manipur on Sunday, August 30, 2020
Knowledge Exchange Network, Manipur (KEN) based at Boston, USA, is a voluntary organization collectively run by Manipuri professionals across the world. Its sole aim is to create career and employment opportunities in Manipur through knowledge transfer and skilling youth by synergizing the local need and best means available in the world.
The event started with a welcome Address by RK Herojit, KEN President [Singapore] encouraging all the students who attended the event. Further Dr. Jayanta Yumnam, KEN General Secretary [Guwahati] explained the Mission and Vision of KEN to the participants (http://kenmanipur.org/aim-and-objective/).
Dr S Jet Singh, MBBS Intern at JNIMS Imphal gave the webinar on the secrets to crack NEET-UG for MBBS and how to start the preparation. Alian Suantak Vaiphei, MSc, Adv Psychological practice with Children, Adolescents and Adult Founder, Panacea Care, London, UK, who is originally from Manipur, gave the webinar on career in Allied Health care, and its various options available.
Dr S Jet Singh shared valuable information and tips to crack NEET for MBBS study from his own real-life experience and he interacted with the participants and cleared many of their doubts in the Q&A session. He warned the students to not take 11th class for granted, rather to start being serious about the NEET test right from the 11th class itself. He reminded the students that line by line understanding of their core subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for both 11th and 12 th class, are the sole key to cracking the test.
Shri Alian Vaiphei, an experienced health care professional in the UK, took over from Dr Jet to explain to the students about the various options available in medical profession apart from the traditional MBBS route. He further explained about what the allied health professions are, how to get into them, and what are the various opportunities available both in India and abroad with the kind of monetary incentives such careers provides.
