Watch Ankush Prasad speaks at TEDxULg on 'Lights of the living cell' :: Video
on 'Lights of the living cell' on 4th August 2012
Ankush Prasad
About the talk:
All living organism emits spontaneous ultra-weak photon emission as a result of cellular metabolic processes. It is differentiated from the phenomenon of bioluminescence as it is spontaneously emitted by living organism without any excitation.
The intensity of light emitted is 1000 times lower than the sensitivity of the human eye and thus invisible to the human eye. We image this photon in one and two dimensional imaging system.
Ankush Prasad, born February 27, 1986 is a PhD scholar at the Department of Biophysics at the Palacký University of Czech Republic. Before he joined PhD in 2009, he completed his M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, Post graduate diploma from All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi, India and B.Sc. degree from Manipur University, India.

About TEDx :
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
