According to Prof. Sharma, “Virus Kavach Fabrics Spray Technology” is an easy to apply by spraying on the fabrics dry or iron. Once dried it provides nanolayer protective shield that will sustain until washed.
Fabric coating can easily be recharged by spraying it again and following the steps in the instructions on the product. It is a universal solvent, water based spray containing naturally occurring organic carboxylic acid compounds, listed as non-toxic, ecosafe by United States Environmental Protection Agencies (US EPA) categorized as GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) and included in the approved list under the Foods and Drugs Administration USA.

Prof Sharma further elaborated that the test on fabrics for SARS-CoV-2 (etiologic agent of COVID-19) has been carried out in a Biosafety Level-4 (BSL4) categorized Laboratory in Texas, USA as per ISO 18184 -2019 fabric testing protocol and found that Virus Kavach Fabrics Spray inactivates 99.99+% of SARS-CoV-2 virus when sprayed on the fabrics.
This finding is novel because SARS-CoV-2 virus can dwell on the surface of normal mask for 7 days if not washed. He also informed that Virus Kavach Fabrics Spray inactivates 99.99+% gram positive and gram negative bacteria as validated at Centre for Nanofabrics, School of Nanoscience and Technology as per JIS L 1902/ISO 20743 textile testing protocol.
He added this will have positive impact for hospitals, patients in preventing Hospital Associated Infections (HAI’s) reducing the comorbidity fatalities.
