Ukhrul observed Bijili Mahotsav and Ujala Diwas
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India in association with Government of Manipur celebrated Bijili Mahotsav and Ujala Diwas at Community Hall of Kazipphung, Hungpung, Ukhrul District, Manipur.
Attending the celebration as Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Krishna Kumar stated that "the main objectives of this celebration is to commemorate amd recognized the achievements which have been made under the central and state government. As a responsible consumers and as a responsible citizen of India, one must perform certain duties to enjoy their basic rights." He also focus on the importance of electricity (power) in our daily activities and pur very future existence. He further continued that "installation of rooftop solar panels can be another source of energy which can be adopted in village level."
Krishna Kumar extend appreciation to MSPDCL Ukhrul "inspite of shortage of manpower, they have been performing very well."

Krishna Kumar also take out time to pay homage to the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their precious life for the motherland. "On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I remembered those brave soldiers who have sacrificed their life for their motherland. For their supreme sacrificed, we salute those soldiers and family members of the fallen heroes" added Krishna Kumar.
One Nation - One Grid - One Frequency- the Organisor highlighted the various schemes and projects being taken up by the Government through screening of videos.
Participants expressed gratitude to the Government and power department for improving the power supply in their village.
The celebration was also attended by Senior Manager of NHPC, Ram Manosh Kumar, DGM Akui Mashangva, Manager Sothing Kashung, PO of DRDA Ukhrul, Roland Ningshen, leaders and elders of Kazipphung.
