A four-member delegation of the United Naga Council (UNC), which is demanding an alternative administrative arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur, on Friday met BJP national president Nitin Gadkari seeking support for its movement.
"The uniqueness of Naga history was recognized by the then BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and since BJP is the principal opposition party, we have met party president Nitin Gadkari. We urged him to support our demand," said Ashinpou Gangmei, vice chairman of Committee for Alternative Arrangement (CAA), a constituent body of the UNC.
