Tribe recognition NTC, ENPO reiterate stand

Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) and Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) have reiterated their demand on the state government to revoke the cabinet decision on June 23,2013 that accorded recognition to Rongmeis as one of the Naga tribe of Nagaland as the decision was contrary to the recommendation of the government constituted fact finding committee.
A joint statement issued... pointed out that the committee as per recommendation 4:1 stated “..while entitling them to avail all the benefits of reservation to pursue employment and education, will not make them an Indigenous Naga tribe of the state”.
