Tribal bodies reject MoU signed between govt, JACAATB
Nagaland Post | Imphal, May 18 ():
Two tribal bodies have declared the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Manipur government and Joint Action Committee Against Anti-Tribal Bill (JACAATB) as a ploy to suppress the rights of the tribal enshrined in the Constitution of India.
To end the more than 600-day long anti-ILPS bills agitation, JACAATB signed a MoU with the Manipur government on May 10 last.
Days after the signing of the MoU, All Tribal Women Union (ATWU) and All Tribal Movement Lamka (ATML) rejected the MoU stating that it (MoU) was a ploy to deny the rights of the tribal enshrined in the Constitution.
