Tree Plantation Programme at Kangla
IBSD planted tress under Swachhata Pakhwada-2022
Institute of Bioresources and Sustainale Development (IBSD), Imphal planted around 50 fruit bearing plants inside the sacred Kangla Fort as part of its fornight observation of Swachhata Pakhwada-2022.
The tree plantation programme was led by Dr. Sudripta Das, a senior scientist of the institute and joined by other scientists, students and other staff members. The Swachhta Pakhwada launched by Government of India, is a fortnight-long programme observed to ensure mass participation of citizens in Swachhta activities and to truly transform Swachh Bharat into a citizen’s movement.
Tree Plantation Programme at Kangla
IBSD kicked off the observation on May 2, 2022 with the cleaning, collection and proper disposal of wastes including plactics in and around its campus and Manipur Science Centre, Takyelpat with the guidance of its Director, Prof. Pulok Kumar Mukherjee.
The observation will continue till May 15, 2022 with different events/programmes in its Imphal office and other Regional Centre/Nodes located in Sikkim, Shillong and Aizawl.
