Total shutdown against blast in Moreh on Friday
Nagaland Post | Imphal, May 18 ():
Civil society organizations based in Moreh have called for a total shutdown in the border town in protest against a bomb blast on Wednesday night. An IED suspected to have been planted by militants went off at Moreh on Wednesday night, police said. No casualty was reported in the blast. However, it has caused fear psychosis and insecurity among the civilians of the town at the international border, a statement of the Hill Tribal Council (HTC) said today.
Civil societies based in Moreh like the HTC, Kuki Students’ Organisation, MYC and KWU&HR condemned the bomb blast. As a mark of protest, the civil societies of Moreh have called for a 24-hour total shutdown in the border town and Asian Highway no. 1 (Imphal-Moreh road) beginning from mid-night of May 18.
