TODAY -
To the Mosquito
Herojit Philem *
You tiny stinging creature
Your strident voice
Provokes me from deep thoughts
Your painful bite
Consumes my vision for the beloved lady
You rest here and now
Between my fingers
Shall I or shall I not set you free?
Go and pollute her room with your shrill voice
To destroy her slumber
And contemplation of others
Fly and sting her to weep
The pain of ignored love is sorer than your sting;
She must at least know the pain of your stylet.
If you can't
You will be the captive inside the fingers web
Let your sweetheart also cry tonight.
