Ticket aspirant's supporters storm Cong office in Imphal

A day after the joint body of seven underground outfits announced a ban on Congress from contesting elections, a large number of people from Bishnupur district Thursday stormed the Congress office demanding review of the party decision of offering Congress ticket for Oinam A/C of the district.
Supporters of former minister Radhakishore who lost in 2007 election stormed the Congress Bhavan in Imphal Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. reacting to a report which appeared in a local daily about Congress offering ticket for Oinam A/C to former MLA Dr. Y. Jiten.
The supporters converged at the Congress Bhavan gate and shouted slogans against offering of party of ticket to Dr Jiten. Police on duty in front of the bhavan dispersed them. They also baton charged the people. But, no injury was reported in the police action.
