Third Reminder to PM regarding death of Pravish Chanam at Noida

Subject: Third Reminder before your visit to Manipur with regard to the death of one Manipuri Boy namely Mr. Pravish Chanam at Greater Noida, UP on the 9th of September, 2017 and the failure to investigate the matter till date.

Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) is writing with deep concern to draw your kind attention for the Third Time after a gap of 1 year and 3 months after a several communication was made to your good office since the death of Mr. Pravish Chanam at Greater Noida on the 9th of September, 2017 requesting for your kind urgent intervention for CBI investigation which no positive action could be seen till date.

Same communication letter was sent to the Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs, Shri Rajnath Singh and also have met him by the delegation of various women leaders from Manipur with regard to the death of Pravish Chanam, however, no positive outcome could be seen observed.

The people of Manipur will be welcoming you with full of joy on the 4th of January, 2018 during your visit in Manipur. There are various steps which have been taken up by your government and also by the BJP led Government of Manipur which is highly appreciated.

However, with regard to the mysterious death of Pravish Chanam not a single Positive Response could be observed with regard to the investigation is concern over the death of Pravish Chanam at Great Noida since 1 years and 3 months have been passed. The “Movement for Justice for Pravish Chanam and Stop Racial Discrimination towards the North East People” still prevails with the support from various CSOs and Students’ bodies since the death of Pravish Chanam and will continue until Justice is delivered to the victim’s family members.

Therefore, to give a light to your visit here in Manipur and for your warm welcoming by the people of Manipur, we request you to kindly direct the Department of Personnel and Training to hand over the matter for Investigation to the CBI and the same good news be officially declared before the people of Manipur during your presence here.

YFPHR will be very thankful if your good self could fulfill the wish of the people of Manipur.
