The rain sings outside the window
K. Radhakumar *
A light rain began to fall
In the early hours of yesterday morning.
The thirsty plants and fields
Wept for joy,
Days of hot weather
Came to an end,
The dry earth welcomed its arrival.
By evening
The rain poured down.
The plants were dripping with water
And the country lands
Wore a deserted look.
Rain was forecast
For the next few days on the television
And there was heavy rain
Throughout the night.
The country ponds
Sent back echoes
Of the croaking of toads.
Day before yesterday it rained,
Yesterday it continued.
Today it is pouring with rain,
There will be rain tomorrow.
The incessant rain!
Here the rains come in June.
Has one lost
One's continued interest in life?
Why this loneliness in one's own house
In the workplace among coworkers
At the market on market day?
There is no difference between yesterday and today
And tomorrow will be no different from today.
One gets bored with staying indoors;
One cannot enjoy the great outdoors of France.
The rain stops
On the fifth day.
The sun shines
On the eastern horizon.
Birds sing
And flowers dance
In the gentle breeze.
Not a life changer for our gentleman!
Life is boring
And one is not yet prepared
For a great change like death.
