The Onset of Spring
K. Radhakumar *
The sunshine is warm and sweet
And all of a sudden
It has brought sunshine
Into my dull morning.
The dead leaves have fallen
And the sickening smell of the lifeless
Has finally died down.
The end of winter is in sight.
Goodbye! It was just great we were friends,
Just great you and I
Enjoyed the bitter-sweet taste of life.
I kiss you goodbye, winter!
Everything comes to an end.
At last winter's song has come to an end.
Let us give our friend a big round of applause
Before we are at the door to welcome spring.
The brown plants are just coming into leaf.
The smiling face of nature
Takes on a healthy and greenish hue.
Spring flowers are about to hatch this morning.
Ah spring! From the realms of memory, desire and hope?
The cycle of the seasons
Gives my life a sense of purpose.
One lives one's life in one's time.
