The Evening Blues
K. Radhakumar *
The day dawns bright and clear
With the promise of a good life.
What a sight!
Flowers smile; birds sing.
There is nothing I can do about it –
I am involved in the wonderful reality.
Life is wonderful, and that’s that.
The grandeur of the morning
Clad in flowers and greenery –
Ah, I always think of the new growth
After the rains
As the herald of spring.
In the evening
The sun goes behind a dark cloud.
The prospect of an uncivilized night
Looms large on the horizon.
What a surprising turn of events!
9/11 AIDS
H1N1
The king is finally checkmated.
Who would have thought
The old king would have had
So much blood in him?
The night drove Lady Macbeth crazy.
Hello, sunshine!
I am not at all philosophical
About the green leaves turning yellow
And falling in the autumn.
Between the first Act and the last Act
I have seen life can be very unfair;
Strange to say, I do not matter
In the overall scheme of things
And I no longer worry about
My place in the cosmos.
