Tech solutions for North East roads
The Telegraph | Kohima, June 2:
Scientists and technocrats have stressed the need to adopt new technology, like launching a Green Roads Mission in the northeastern states and implementing the cold mix technology, echoing Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s views that roads in the region need special solutions.
P.K. Jain, a senior scientist with the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), the apex road research agency in the country, said, “The Northeast confronts us with unique challenges with its topography and weather conditions. States should learn from Assam the adoption of newer technologies like cold mix black-topping solutions.”
