Manipur witnessed a dark period for seven years between 1819 and 1826 when Burmese invaded the small kingdom. During the seven years of Burmese rule, Manipur had seen the worst. It was a completely devastated princely state in their hands. There were chaos, bloodshed, torture, sufferings in every corner of Manipur forcing several people and rulers including Raja Marjit and Gambhir Singh to flee from Manipur and took shelter in Cachar. In the history of Manipur, this chaotic period of seven years is known as Chahi Taret Khuntakpa or Seven Years of Devastation.
NE Brothers believes that music has the power to heal and unite us all. Through the platform of music, Tapta and NE Brothers aim to spread the message of love, unity, peace and goodwill. Catch your iconic singer Tapta right in your home town and join this moment of togetherness and love.
