Takam Sanjoy, PCC, Arunachal Pradesh on Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016
New Delhi, 15th January, 2019
The BJP Party in Arunachal Pradesh with its leaders across all levels running around for tickets, is sitting silent on the issue of The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 which was passed by the Lok Sabha recently, stated Former MP and PCC President of Arunachal Pradesh Mr. Takam Sanjoy.
While mentioning that the provisions of the Bill will affect the North Eastern Region in particular and hit Arunachal Pradesh the most he highlighted the fact that the Bill is a license to the already escalated refugee Chakma Hajong issue which has already changed the demography of Arunachal Pradesh.
He said that while Assam is the Gateway to the entire hill States of the NE Region, Arunachal is not an exception where immigrant labourers including businessmen whether Hindu, Muslim or other faiths are taking safe sanctuary.
According to Sanjoy, the BJP Party in Arunachal is not mincing a single word on this draconian and communally oriented Bill paving the way for lacs of Bangladeshi Hindus to take undue advantage of this new Bill. The CM and his council of Ministers are not raising voice for fear of not getting BJP tickets, he mentioned.
The future of Arunachal Pradesh is very bleak so long as BJP rules at the Centre and State. Sanjoy questioned the influx of immigrants and licensing for citizenship minimizing eleven years to six with 2014 as the cut off year according to the new bill will also eat up the entire indigenous population of Arunachal Pradesh , Assam and other NE States .
Sanjoy observed that Arunachal Pradesh is the most strategic and the sensitive zone in the Indian subcontinent continent bordering China. He mentioned that Government of India has to ponder and deal any administrative and political matter with sensitivity, true conscience and clear mind.
