Study to find Hepatitis 'B' infected in NE on cards

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will launch a project in the Northeastern region to study the number of people affected by the Hepatitis ‘B’ in the region.
Talking about the necessity of such a study in the region, Goswami said Northeast is the region in the country where effect of this virus is very prominent, so the it’s is important to find out the exact number of total affected people.
A recent study conducted by Dr Goswami revealed that Northeastern region has 2.62 per cent of patients infected by Hepatitis ‘B’ virus.
