Strong storm batters Manipur's valley areas

A strong storm in valley areas of Manipur has blown down trees and destroyed roofs Saturday. However, no human casualty was reported by the storm that blew at the rate of 56 km/hr in the afternoon.
According to the Meteorological office, Imphal, the strong wind that blew from south-west direction around 2 pm later turned north-east touching almost the entire valley district.
Reports of uprooting trees and destroying roofs of many structures including dwelling houses and government offices were poured in from many places, mostly from Imphal east, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts of the state.
