Stop killings, Kuki orgs appeal to Indian President

India should stop “killings of those rightfully defending their ancestral land heritage,” the President of India is told by two north eastern organizations. Kuki organizations, the Kuki Inpi and Kuki Movement for Human Rights, issued an “open letter” addressed to the President of India today to “advise the rulers of India to act immediately, to save thousands of human lives.”

Your Excellency the President of India is fervently requested to graciously advise the Rulers of India to act immediately, to save thousands of human lives and to avoid destructions of valuable properties beyond compensation,” the letter said. The “open letter” appended by Holkhomang Haokip, advisor to Kuki Inpi, and Dr. T Lunkim, chairman of Kuki Movement for Human Rights was receive here today.
According to the two organizations, the creation of the seven states of the North East Region has not brought about peace “because the main purpose of the creation of seven sister states is to grab the land of hill country.”
