State Level World Kidney Day and CME Programme Conducted
The 13th Anniversary of World Kidney Day on the theme “Kidneys and Women’s Health ; include Value, Empower” was observed on 17th March 2018 along with a State Level CME programme on the topic of “Renal Replacement Therapy and CKD- An Overview & Understanding Urinary Stone Diseases” at Imperial Hall of Classic Grande, Imphal .
Free OPD for Urology and Nephrology patients was also conducted at Churachandpur on 17th March 2018 and the 18th March 2018 at SKY Hospital. The function was organised by National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS), State Health Society , NHM in association with East West Healthcare and Research Institute (EWHRI) Imphal and AMRI Hospitals, Kolkata.
The function was graced by Dr. K. Rajo Singh, Director of Health Services, Manipur as Chief Guest and Dr. L. Shyamkishore Singh, President EWHRI as President, Dr. H. Ranjit Singh, Additional Director (MC), Dr. S. Manikanta Singh, Additional Director (PF) , of Medical Directorate , Manipur and Prof. L. Sharatchandra Singh, Nephrologist, RIMS as Guests of Honour.
Dr. Amitava Mukherjee, Consultant Urologist and Dr Arghya Majumdar , Consultant Nephrologist , AMRI Hospital, Kolkata attended the CME programme as resource persons.All together 50 participants from the different Districts of Manipur attended the programme.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Dr K. Rajo Singh mentioned that care of Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD) would be available free in all district hospitals of Manipur. Dr Y.Premchandra, State Nodal officer (NPCDCS) in his key-note address highlighted that dialysis program was going to start in 9 district hospitals of Manipur for severe Kidney Disease under PPP mode. Mr M.Maitty , Senior Marketing Manager AMRI Kolkata proposed the Vote of thanks.
The World Kidney Day was also observed by District NCD Cells and District Health Society in all the 16 districts of Manipur by holding screening Camps and symposiums.
