South Asia Media Commission condemns attack on media in Manipur
Seven Sisters Post | PTI | New Delhi (Aug 28):
Against the backdrop of seven journalists being killed in Manipur, the South Asia Media Commission on Tuesday demanded that the state government punish the guilty and made a fervent appeal to militants not to interfere with the functioning of the media.
It also said journalists are coming under “increasing pressures” from the militants groups and finding it difficult to function as independent professionals in the state, where the situation is “alarming” for scribes.
