Solidarity to the families of extrajudicial killing in Manipur was organised under the theme "Discussion on the Politics of Extrajudicial Killings in Manipur" today behind the convocation hall, at Arts Faculty, University of Delhi.
It is disheartening that the university authority at an hour before the programme was about to begin at the Seminar Room, School of Open Learning had cancelled the booking on flimsy grounds just to obstruct the programme.
Victim families, who were mostly members of Extrajudicial Execution Victim Families Association Manipur, shared their stories of woes and cries over lost of beloved ones and disheartenment at the denial of justice.
Representatives of Manipur Students' Association Delhi, Campaign for Peace & Democracy (Manipur), Northeast Forum for International Solidarity, Human Rights Alert, Krantikari Yuva Sangathan expressed solidarity to the legal initiatives taken up by the victim families to get justice, condemned state terrorism and called on for collective struggle.
They were presented copies of booklet entitled Right to Self Determination of Manipur authored by Late Sanajaoba Naorem. MSAD assured to cooperate with the victim families to the best possible extent through campaigns, publications and taking part in democratic struggle.
