Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Langol is a pioneer private institute providing secondary and tertiary healthcare in the region. Dr. Kh. Palin, MBBS MS MCh FICS FAIMS, the moving spirit of Shija Hospitals, Imphal, is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon devoting himself for the rapid advancement of medical sciences in North-East India in general and Manipur in particular with the vision of creating "Manipur a Healthcare Hub of South East ASIA". In his feat of excellence, a team under him has also achieved Guiness Record for excising the largest neck tumour in the world from a 12 days old baby, thereby bringing in the State of Manipur and Shija Hospitals in particular to the picture of the world.
He is also a recipient of NE TV Award for People's Choice in the field of Business, 2005.
Smile Train Inc., USA
Smile Train is a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to provide assistance to children born with cleft lip and palate, which are treatable, around the world. It is a noble endeavor to contribute in bringing back the smile in every child's face, born with the Cleft, making them equal to their mates, giving them the new hope to live with dignity and smile that they so longed for. Every child with cleft lip and palate will be treated free of cost, no charges in any form will be levied from the patient and the patient party. The end goal is to make this world free of Cleft lip and palate.
The Smile Train has a unique strategy of empowering local doctors and hospitals in developing countries to help the children in their communities.
Cleft Lip and Palate
Cleft Lip and Palate are birth deformities of the lip and palate giving the patient socially an unacceptable look and defective speech. The best part is the deformity can be treated giving them a chance to life.
SMILE TRAIN SHIJA CLEFT PROJECT:
Smile Train has reognised Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Langol as the partnered hospital and Dr. Kh. Palin as the Partnered Plastic surgeon for the project. Under the project patients with Cleft Lip and Palate and other related deformities will be treated free of cost. Free Cost means ABSOLUTELY NO CHARGES will be levied on the patients undergoing the treatment. Lending its support to the mission of SMILE TRAIN, Shija Hospitals will be rendering the services to the needy patients from the region. It is a collaborative effort to render more smiles to the deprived individuals suffering from the Cleft Lip and Palate and other related deformities. It has been observed that patients with Cleft Lip and Palate often feels themselves inferior from their mates, whereas the good news is that it can be treated and rectified with a surgical intervention. Making such unfortunate individuals fortunate is the mission of this project.
With every operation done, we give an individual a reason to smile.
